Lock & Co Hatters

An insight into the world of prestige millinery

As part of their website redesign, the team at Lock & Co Hatters were keen to make much greater use of video. They asked us to create a short film for their home page that would illustrate the prestigious location of their shop in London, and highlight some of the products and services that they offer. This can be seen above.

With Lock & Co Hatters being the oldest hat shop in the world and having a reputation for high quality and impeccable service, it was crucial that the video we created captured and reflected these values, whilst also giving it a fresh, vibrant feel that would appeal to a wide range of different customers.

The footage was filmed over half a day using a DSLR camera. In the edit, time ramping effects and a stylised animated map were used to show a journey from Buckingham Palace to the interior of the shop, appearing as though one seamless take from start to finish.

The video now features on the opening page of the website, helping to establish an immediate connection between viewers and the Lock & Co brand. With the total price of the video coming in at well under £1,000, it offers further evidence that there’s no need to break the bank in order to reap the benefits that video can provide.

Following the production of this video we have created a further series of videos for Lock & Co, including a series of clips featuring a model wearing a range of different hats – giving customers a much fuller overview of the products on offer – as well as a further video featuring staff answering some frequently asked questions. These videos are all available on the Lock & Co website.
